DT1401, PUEBLO WAYFINDING SIGNS PHASE II SUMMARY: This Ordinance accepts funds from Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority, Pueblo Downtown Association, HARP Foundation and the Pueblo City-County Library, budgets and appropriates $10,651.27 into Project DT1401, Pueblo Wayfinding Signs, Phase II. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Ordinance No. 8706 dated March 10, 2014, established Project DT1401, Wayfinding Signs Phase II, approved contract, M086-067 (19287) with CDOT and budgeted, transferred and appropriated a total of $51,625. Resolution No. 13827, dated November 27, 2017, approved an agreement for professional services with Walden Mills Group, in the amount of $8,000. Ordinance No. 9429, dated March 13, 2019, amended the agreement for professional services with Walden Mills Group to increase the agreement by a total of $5,500. Resolution No. 14425, dated July 13, 2020, approved a service agreement with Husky Signs & Graphics dba Husky Creative, in the amount of $34,450.20, with a contingency of $3,674.80. BACKGROUND: The initial award to Husky Creative was to retrofit six (6) of the existing wayfinding signs, update messaging, relocate one (1) existing sign and install new directional signs to focus on the route from Interstate 25 on City Center and Union Avenue to the Visitor Center in Downtown Pueblo. A total of eight (8) signs were included in the project; however, the budget only permits six (6) of the signs to be retrofit. Signs A1 through A4, A7 and A8 were originally awarded at a cost of $34,450.20. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: With the additional funding in the amount of $10,651.27 from Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority, Pueblo Downtown Association, HARP Foundation and the Pueblo City-County Library, signs A5 and A6 will now be included in the retrofit. The cost for the two (2) additional signs is $5,452.59 each, for a total of $10,905.18. The remaining $343.91 will be paid for out of the contingency that was previously included. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None. ALTERNATIVES: Denial of this Ordinance would result in the final two (2) signs not being retrofit. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Ordinance. Attachments: Donation letters from: Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority Downtown Association HARP Authority Pueblo City-County Library
