SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE MAYOR OF
ANGELA RAYNE TO THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
SUMMARY:
This Resolution appoints an individual to the Historic Preservation Commission to complete a
four-year term expiring either January 1, 2023.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
City Council has made appointments to the Historic Preservation Commission to serve terms
which expire during a calendar year. Amended City Charter Section 4-4 (i) now requires that such
appointments be made by the Mayor, subject to confirmation by City Council.
BACKGROUND:
Due to the resignation of Incumbent Christopher Markuson and Incumbent Maria Tucker Sanchez
there are appointments available to complete either a four-year term expiring January 1, 2022 or
January 1, 2023.
Following advertisements published in the Pueblo Chieftain, an announcement on the City Clerk’s
webpage seeking volunteers to serve on this committee no new applications were received. A
previous application submitted from Angela Rayne was received and was not selected but rather
placed on file for future appointment. Ms. Rayne’s application is now being submitted for
consideration of appointment.
The application was reviewed by Mayor Gradisar who has recommended that Angela Rayne be
appointed. One open appointment on this Board remains.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
None.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
None.
ALTERNATIVES:
