HomeMy WebLinkAbout14426 RESOLUTION NO. 14426 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $387,219.80 TO AMERICAN ROAD MAINTENANCE FOR REHAB OF RUNWAY 8L/26R PROJECT NO. AP2002 AT THE PUEBLO MEMORIAL AIRPORT, AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE SAME WHEREAS, proposals for Project No. 20-022 (AP2002) PUB RW 8L/26R Complex Rehabilitation at the Pueblo Memorial Airport have been received and examined; and WHEREAS, the bid from American Road Maintenance was the only one received; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. A contract for Project No. 20-022 (AP2002) PUB RW 8L/26R Complex Rehabilitation at the Pueblo Memorial Airport is hereby awarded to American Road Maintenance in the amount of $387,217.35. SECTION 2. The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of the City of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the Seal of the City thereto and attest the same. SECTION 3. Funds for Project No. 20-022 in the amount of $387,219.80 shall be expended from the Rehab Runway 8L/26R Project No. AP2002. SECTION 4. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described therein. SECTION 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon final passage and approval. AP2002 AT THE PUEBLO MEMORIAL AIRPORT, AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE SAME SUMMARY: Attached is a Resolution awarding a contract to American Road Maintenance for the rehabilitation of Runway 8L/26R Project at the Pueblo Memorial Airport. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: City Council approved Ordinance No. 9699 on April 27, 2020, accepting a CDOT-Aeronautics grant to Rehab Runway 8L/26R. City Council also approved an agreement with Dibble and Associates under Ordinance No. 9600 on April 27, 2020 for engineering services for this project. BACKGROUND This project will rehabilitate Runway 8L/26R, which is weathering and experiencing block cracking. Bids for the project were opened on June 19, 2020. American Road Maintenance was the only bidder. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funds in the amount of $387,219.80 will be expended from the Rehab Runway 8L/26R Project No. AP2002. The State grant will pay for $348,495.61 (90%) of the contract and the City’s matching funds will be $38,721.74 (10%). BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable for this Resolution. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not applicable for this Resolution. ALTERNATIVES: If this Resolution is not approved, the project will not occur.
