Gradisar has requested confirmation by the City Council of his appointment of the following individuals to the Pueblo Human Relations Commission - City Appointments to complete three-year terms expiring December 31, 2022; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The appointments by the Mayor of the following individuals to the Pueblo Human Relations Commission to serve three-year terms expiring December 31, 2022 shall be and hereby is confirmed by City Council. Kathleen Javaneau Sarah Habib _____ SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are authorized and directed to perform any and all acts consistent with this Resolution to implement the appointments described herein. SECTION 3. Gradisar, Mayor VIA: City Clerk’s Office FROM: Brenda Armijo, City Clerk SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE MAYOR OF MEMBERS TO THE PUEBLO HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION – CITY APPOINTMENTS SUMMARY: This Resolution confirms the appointment by the Mayor of members to the Pueblo Human Relations Commission-City Appointment to serve three-year terms expiring December 31, 2022. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: City Council has made appointments to the Pueblo Human Relations Commission selecting individuals to serve terms which expire during a particular calendar year. Amended City Charter Section 4-4 (i) now requires that such appointments be made by the Mayor, subject to confirmation by City Council. BACKGROUND: Due to the term expirations of Incumbent Kathleen Javaneau and Incumbent Robert Long, there are two appointments available to serve three-year terms expiring December 31, 2022 on the Pueblo Human Relations Commission as the City Appointments. Following advertisements published in the Pueblo Chieftain, announcements on the City Clerk’s webpage seeking volunteers to serve on the commission, one new application was received from Sarah Habib. Kathleen Javaneau does wish to be considered for reappointment. The applications were reviewed by Mayor Gradisar who is requesting confirmation of his appointments of Kathleen Javaneau and Sarah Habib. . FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: This a volunteer commission and members serve without compensation. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None. ALTERNATIVES: Remove from agenda and re-advertise for additional applications. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Resolution. ATTACHMENTS: Proposed Resolution
