A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $128,160 TO
AGUILARS CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, A COLORADO
CORPORATION, AND SETTING FORTH $12,840 FOR
CONTINGENCIES AND ADDITIONAL WORK FOR
PROJECT NO. 20A-015 POPE BLOCK BUILDING
RESTORATION FOR WATER DAMAGE, TO BE PAID
FROM PROJECT ACCOUNT ED0801 LEASE
PROCEEDS ESCROW/RMS, AND AUTHORIZING THE
PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
A construction contract for Project No. 20a-015 Pope Block Building Restoration
for Water Damage Project, is hereby awarded to Aguilars Construction Company, a
Colorado corporation, in the amount of $128,160.
SECTION 2.
In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional
amount of $12,840 is hereby authorized for contingencies and additional work.
SECTION 3.
Funds for said Project shall be from account ED0801 – Lease Proceeds
Escrow/RMS.
SECTION 4.
The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of
the City and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same.
SECTION 5.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized and directed to perform any and
all acts consistent with this Resolution and the awarded contract to implement the policies
and procedures described herein.
SECTION 6.
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval

SUMMARY:
This Resolution awards a construction contract to Aguilars Construction Company, a Colorado
corporation, for restoration for water damage at the Pope Block Building.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
None.
BACKGROUND:
This project will repair water damage to the entry way, vestibules, hallways, break room,
janitor closet and men’s and women’s bathrooms of the Pope Block Building located at 317
N. Main Street, Pueblo, CO 81001.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds (including contingencies) in the amount of $ 141,000 will go towards Project 20a-015 Pope
Block Building Restoration for Water Damage. Funds for this Project will be paid from account
ED0801.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
Not applicable.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
Not applicable.
ALTERNATIVES:
City Council could not award the contract, in which case the public improvements
contemplated by the construction contract would not be performed.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the Resolution.
