HomeMy WebLinkAbout14378 RESOLUTION NO. 14378 A RESOLUTION APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL DESIGN CONSULTING SERVICES AGREEMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $184,995 BETWEEN THE CITY OF PUEBLO, A COLORADO MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, AND BOHANNAN HUSTON, INC. RELATING TO THE MASTER PLAN DESIGN FOR THE UNION AVENUE AND MAIN STREET MASTER PLAN PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAME WHEREAS, Bohannan Huston, Inc. has been selected to provide Professional Design Consulting Services for said Project; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The Agreement for Professional Design Consulting Services dated March 9, 2020, between the City of Pueblo, a Colorado Municipal Corporation, and Bohannan Huston, Inc., a copy of which is attached hereto and on file at the office of the City Clerk, having been approved as to form by the City Attorney, is hereby approved. SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute and deliver said Agreement on behalf of the City of Pueblo, and the City Clerk shall affix the Seal of the City thereto and attest same. SECTION 3. Funds in the amount of $89,230 for said Professional Services shall be paid from the Union Avenue Pedestrian, Parking and Streetscape Improvements Project, No. CI1912 SECTION 4. Funds in the amount of $95,765 for said Professional Services shall be paid from the Main Street Pedestrian, Parking and Streetscape Improvements Project, No. CI1913 S SECTION 5. The officers and staff of the City are authorized and directed to perform any and all acts consistent with this Resolution and the attached Agreement to implement the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 6. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval. RELATING TO THE MASTER PLAN DESIGN FOR THE UNION AVENUE AND MAIN STREET MASTER PLAN PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAME SUMMARY: This Resolution approves an Agreement for Professional Design Consulting Services relating to the Master Plan Design for Union Avenue and Main Street Project. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None. BACKGROUND: The City requested qualifications (RFQ No. 19-062) from consultants to provide planning and design of master plan proposals for pedestrian, parking, and streetscape improvements on Union Avenue and Main Street. A separate masterplan will be established for each corridor and sub-projects will be selected for complete production of construction documents as approved and within the budget. The budget is funded by a Pueblo County Ballot Issue 1A establishing design and construction funds for Union Avenue of $1,000,000 and funds for Main Street of $2,000,000. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funds in the amount of $89,230 shall be paid from the Union Avenue Pedestrian, Parking and Streetscape Improvements Project, No. CI1912, and funds in the amount of $95,765 shall be paid from the Main Street Pedestrian, Parking and Streetscape Improvements Project, No. CI1913. The total cost for design consulting services will be $184,995. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None. ALTERNATIVES: Denial of this Resolution will result in the delay of the Project. RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve the Resolution. Attachments: Proposed Resolution Agreement
