AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF
$70,000 FROM THE BOARD OF PUEBLO COUNTY
COMMISIONERS AND ACCEPTING FUNDS IN THE
AMOUNT OF $50,000 FROM THE PUEBLO URBAN
RENEWAL AUTHORITY FOR THE GATEWAY TO THE
SOUTHWEST I-25 ART PROJECT AND BUDGETS AND
APPROPRIATES SAID FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF
$120,000 TO PROJECT PL1801
WHEREAS, The Gateway to the Southwest I-25 Art Project, PL1801 has been
established; and,
WHEREAS, contributions in the amount of $70,000 has been offered by the Board
of Pueblo County Commissioners towards the Project; and,
WHEREAS, contributions in the amount of $50,000 has been offered by the Pueblo
Urban Renewal Authority towards the Project; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
Funds in the amount of $70,000 from the Board of Pueblo County Commissioners
are hereby authorized to be accepted for the Gateway to the Southwest I-25 Art Project.
SECTION 2.
Funds in the amount of $50,000 from the Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority are
hereby authorized to be accepted for the Gateway to the Southwest I-25 Art Project.
SECTION 3.
Funds in the amount of $120,000 are hereby budgeted and appropriated to Project
PL1801, Gateway to the Southwest I-25 Art Project.
SECTION 4.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized and directed to perform any and
all acts consistent with this Ordinance and to implement the policies and procedures
described herein.
SECTION 5.
This Ordinance shall become effective on the date of final action by the Mayor and
City Council.

SUMMARY:
This Ordinance accepts $70,000 in contributions from the Board of Pueblo County
Commissioners (“BOCC”) and $50,000 in contributions from the Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority
(“PURA”), which will be budgeted and appropriated to Gateway to the Southwest I-25 Art Project,
PL1801.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
On August 26, 2019, City Council accepted $50,000 for the Gateway to the Southwest I-25 Art
Project by Ordinance No. 9541.
BACKGROUND:
The BOCC were approached a second time to financially contribute to the Gateway to the
Southwest I-25 Art Project. It is the desire of the BOCC to contribute an additional $70,000 to the
community project. PURA authorized the financial contribution of $50,000 in 2019 for the
community art project.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The contributions of $70,000 from the BOCC and $50,000 from PURA totaling $120,000 will be
deposited, budgeted and appropriated into the Gateway to the Southwest I-25 Art Project,
PL1801.
