Gradisar, Mayor VIA: City Clerk’s Office FROM: Brenda Armijo, City Clerk SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE PUEBLO REGIONAL BUILDING DEPARTMENTS’ BUILDING BOARD OF APPEALS – JOINT CITY- COUNTY APPOINTMENTS SUMMARY: This Resolution ratifies the Joint City-County selections made to the Pueblo Regional Building Departments’ Building Board of Appeals. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Appointments to the Pueblo Regional Building Departments’ Board of Appeals are made on an st annual basis selecting individuals to serve three-year terms expiring on July 1 of each year. BACKGROUND: Due to the resignations of Incumbents Jeff Bailey and Rodney Scott, there are two appointments available to complete a three-year term expiring July 1, 2021 and to serve a three-year term expiring July 1, 2022 on the Pueblo Regional Building Departments’ Building Board of Appeals. The recruitment process for 2019 was handled by the Pueblo County Staff seeking volunteers to serve on this committee and received new applications from Brian Gray, John Moser, Robert Leverington and Scot Burbridge. Following the PACOG meeting on December 5, 2019, the BOCC and Council members accepted the applications and selected Brian Gray (General Contractor) and Robert Leverington (Engineer). FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None. ALTERNATIVES: None. RESOLUTION NO. 14352 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE PUEBLO REGIONAL BUILDING DEPARTMENTS’ BUILDING BOARD OF APPEALS – JOINT CITY-COUNTY APPOINTMENTS WHEREAS, membership terms on the Pueblo Regional Building Departments’ Building Board of Appeals that expired on July 1, 2019; and WHEREAS, each of the appointments required to fill the expired terms requires agreed- upon appointments of both the City Council of Pueblo and the Pueblo County Commissioners pursuant to the provisions of the Amended Pueblo Regional Building Department Agreement between the City of Pueblo and Pueblo County, dated August 10, 1981, and the City and County have now agreed as to those individuals they desire to appoint to serve membership terms on the aforementioned Boards; and WHEREAS, the City Council, in conjunction with the County of Pueblo, now respectively appoints these individuals named below to complete a three-year term expiring July 1, 2021 and to serve a three-year term expiring July 1, 2022; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1: The following individual is hereby appointed to the Pueblo Regional Building Departments’ Building Board of Appeals - Joint City-County appointment to complete a three-year term expiring July 1, 2021: Brian Gray (General Contractor) SECTION 2: The following individual is hereby appointed to the Pueblo Regional Building Departments’ Building Board of Appeals - Joint City-County appointment to serve three-year terms expiring July 1, 2022: Robert Leverington (Engineer) SECTION 3: The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval.
