Gradisar, Mayor VIA: City Clerk’s Office FROM: Brenda Armijo, City Clerk SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE PUEBLO REGIONAL BUILDING DEPARTMENTS’ MECHANICAL BOARD OF APPEALS – JOINT CITY-COUNTY APPOINTMENT AND AMENDING RESOLUTION 14303 SUMMARY: This Resolution ratifies the Joint City-County selection made to the Pueblo Regional Building Departments’ Mechanical Board of Appeals. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Appointments to the Pueblo Regional Building Departments’ Board of Appeals are made on an st annual basis selecting individuals to serve three-year terms expiring on July 1 of each year. BACKGROUND: Due to the previous appointment of Robert Leverington as a Contractor to serve a three-year term expiring July 1, 2022 on the Pueblo Regional Building Departments’ Mechanical Board of Appeals was incorrect. This individual in not a Contractor, but rather an Engineer. The Engineer appointment is already held by Katherine Cox. The recruitment process for 2019 was handled by the Pueblo County Staff seeking volunteers to serve on this committee and received no new applications. Incumbent John Krall (Contractor) does wish to be considered for reappointment. Following the PACOG meeting on December 5, 2019, the BOCC and Council members accepted the application and selected to reappoint the Incumbent John Krall to serve a three-year term expiring July 1, 2022 on the Pueblo Regional Building Departments’ Mechanical Board of Appeals - Contractor. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None. ALTERNATIVES: None. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Resolution. ATTACHMENTS: Proposed Resolution. RESOLUTION NO. 14351 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE PUEBLO REGIONAL BUILDING DEPARTMENTS’ MECHANICAL BOARD OF APPEALS – JOINT CITY-COUNTY APPOINTMENT AND AMENDING RESOLUTION 14303 WHEREAS, membership terms on the Pueblo Regional Building Departments’ Mechanical Board of Appeals -Contractor expired on July 1, 2019; and WHEREAS, each of the appointments required to fill the expired terms requires agreed- upon appointments of both the City Council of Pueblo and the Pueblo County Commissioners pursuant to the provisions of the Amended Pueblo Regional Building Department Agreement between the City of Pueblo and Pueblo County, dated August 10, 1981, and the City and County have now agreed as to those individuals they desire to appoint to serve membership terms on the aforementioned Boards; and WHEREAS, the City Council, in conjunction with the County of Pueblo, now respectively appoints this individual named below to serve a three-year term expiring July 1, 2022; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. Resolution 14303 is amended by the removal of Robert Leverington as Pueblo Regional Building Departments’ Mechanical Board of Appeals - Joint City-County appointment - Contractor. SECTION 2. John Krall (Contractor) is hereby appointed to the Pueblo Regional Building Departments’ Mechanical Board of Appeals - Joint City-County appointment to serve a three-year term expiring July 1, 2022. SECTION 3. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval.
