A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ACCEPTING A QUIT
CLAIM DEED FROM THE PUEBLO URBAN RENEWAL
AUTHORITY TRANSFERRING VACATED PORTIONS OF
RICHMOND STREET AND MECHANIC STREET LOCATED
IN THE GATEWAY PLAZA
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1:
The Regional Tourism Act Resolution No.1 from the Office of Economic and
International Trade regarding the Regional Tourism Act Grant states that the City of
Pueblo must build the Gateway Plaza. The Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority would like
to transfer a portion of the vacated Richmond and Mechanic streets to the City of Pueblo
for this purpose.
SECTION 2:
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and
all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and
procedures described herein.
SECTION 3:
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon final passage and
approval.

SUMMARY:
This resolution approves a quit claim deed transferring a portion of vacated Richmond
and Mechanic streets to the City of Pueblo.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
None
BACKGROUND:
Regional Tourism Act Resolution No. 1 states that the City of Pueblo must build the
Gateway Plaza located on the Historic Arkansas Riverwalk of Pueblo. As a part of the
overall Gateway Plaza project a portion of both Richmond street and Mechanic street
were improved. PURA would like to transfer a portion of these streets to the City of
Pueblo.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The land will become an asset of the City of Pueblo.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
The transfer was reviewed by the PURA Board and was approved at the Regular Meeting
of the PURA Board of Commissioners on November 12, 2019.

Authority of Pueblo, Colorado, a body corporate and politic of the State of Colorado,
Grantor, and whose legal address is 115 E. Riverwalk, Suite 410, Pueblo, Colorado 81003
and Pueblo, a municipal corporation organized and existing under and by virtue of the laws
of the State of Colorado and whose legal address is 200 South Main, Pueblo, Colorado
81003 of the County of Pueblo, and State of Colorado, Grantee.
WITNESSETH, that the Grantor, for and in exchange of nonmonetary consideration
and other good and valuable consideration the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby
acknowledged, has remised, released, sold and QUIT CLAIMED, and by these presents
does remise, release, sell and QUIT CLAIM unto the Grantee, successors and assigns,
forever, all the right, title, interest, claim and demand which the Grantor has in and to the
real property, together with improvements, if any, situate, lying and being in the County of
Pueblo and State of Colorado, described as follows:

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the same, together with all and singular the
appurtenances and privileges thereunto belonging or in anywise thereunto appertaining,
and all the estate, right, title, interest and claim whatsoever, of the Grantor, either in law or
equity, to the only proper use and benefit of the Grantee, its successors and assigns
forever.
All referrals to the singular shall include the plural as the sense requires.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Grantor has executed this deed on the date set forth
above.

A parcel of land in the E `/2 of Section 36, Township 20 South, Range 65 West of the 6th
Principal Meridian, in the City of Pueblo and State of Colorado, and being more particularly
described as follows:
Lot 4 of Pueblo Center Subdivision, Filing No. 3 according to the recorded Plat thereof filed for
record on March 6, 1995 at Reception No. 1073035 in the records of the Pueblo County Clerk
and Recorder.
