HomeMy WebLinkAbout14339RESOLUTION NO. 14339 A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ACCEPTING A QUIT CLAIM DEED FROM THE PUEBLO URBAN RENEWAL AUTHORITY TRANSFERRING VACATED PORTIONS OF RICHMOND STREET AND MECHANIC STREET LOCATED IN THE GATEWAY PLAZA BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1: The Regional Tourism Act Resolution No.1 from the Office of Economic and International Trade regarding the Regional Tourism Act Grant states that the City of Pueblo must build the Gateway Plaza. The Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority would like to transfer a portion of the vacated Richmond and Mechanic streets to the City of Pueblo for this purpose. SECTION 2: The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon final passage and approval. Pacheco, Executive Director SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ACCEPTING A QUIT CLAIM DEED FROM THE PUEBLO URBAN RENEWAL AUTHORITY TRANSFERRING VACATED PORTIONS OF RICHMOND STREET AND MECHANIC STREET LOCATED IN THE GATEWAY PLAZA SUMMARY: This resolution approves a quit claim deed transferring a portion of vacated Richmond and Mechanic streets to the City of Pueblo. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None BACKGROUND: Regional Tourism Act Resolution No. 1 states that the City of Pueblo must build the Gateway Plaza located on the Historic Arkansas Riverwalk of Pueblo. As a part of the overall Gateway Plaza project a portion of both Richmond street and Mechanic street were improved. PURA would like to transfer a portion of these streets to the City of Pueblo. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: The land will become an asset of the City of Pueblo. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: The transfer was reviewed by the PURA Board and was approved at the Regular Meeting of the PURA Board of Commissioners on November 12, 2019.
