L — November 21, 2019 Dear Councilman Nicoll, I appreciate your assistance during the past year and your enthusiasm in bringing the#ELGLlnspire event to Southern Colorado. Laura Solano has been a great resource and driving force behind gaining the support of Colorado State University-Pueblo's leadership. I am happy to announce that a date has been selected and we are ready to move forward. On Monday, February 3, the Engaging Local Government Leaders(ELGL) organization is visiting the Colorado State University-Pueblo campus with their"ELGL Inspire" program. ELGL is a big-tent local government professional association that engages the brightest minds in local government. The #ELGLlnspire program is a unique opportunity to introduce to students the various career paths offered in local government. The program includes lunch for the students, and then students learn from "quick fire" pecha-kucha- style presentations from speakers representing the diversity of careers at the local level -everyone from accountants,to managers,to water supervisors,to planners(and more). After this fast-paced presentation, students visit with the speakers to learn more about their specific career paths. The event ends with a panel discussion on the logistics and realities of finding a local government job or internship. Each#ELGLlnspire event costs$3,000 to produce, which includes lunches for all attendees and all event logistics and details. Each#ELGLlnspire event has a goal of drawing 70-100 students to attendance. There are 15+local government practitioners who speak at an average event. Thus, these are great opportunities to showcase your focus and support of local government. If you are interested in sponsorship of this event, your organization would get prominent marketing display of your logo on all event materials, plus the opportunity to speak and share more about your organization at the event. Please contact Kirsten Wyatt at kirsten@elgl.org to talk more about sponsorship levels and how your organization can plug in to the excitement and energy of#ELGLlnspire.
