ADDITIONAL FUNDS NOT TO EXCEED EIGHTY THOUSAND DOLLARS
($80,000.00) FROM THE FUND BALANCE OF THE GENERAL FUND TO
PROJECT NUMBER CI1821 - HOMELESS WARMING SHELTER
SUMMARY:
This Ordinance increases the funding for Project No. CI1821 for payment of costs associated with
the re-opening of the Homeless Warming Shelter on October 30, 2019.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
On November 12, 2018, Ordinance No. 9369 established Project CI1821 and budgeted and
appropriated funding of $250,000 for the Homeless Warming Shelter. On May 13, 2019, by
Ordinance No. 9453, City Council increased funding for the Homeless Shelter by $8,000.00.
BACKGROUND:
The additional funds will be used to pay the operating costs for the Homeless Warming Shelter
from October 30, 2019 and ninety (90) days thereafter, if necessary.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds in the amount of $80,000.00 are being transferred from the Fund Balance Account
(Reserves) of the 2019 General Fund Budget to Project No. CI1821- Homeless Warming Shelter.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
Not applicable to this Ordinance.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
Not applicable to this Ordinance.
ALTERNATIVES:
If City Council does not approve this Ordinance, there will be insufficient funds in the Project No.
CI1821 account to pay for the re-opening of the Homeless Warming Shelter.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the Ordinance.

BALANCE OF THE GENERAL FUND TO PROJECT NUMBER

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
Additional funds in the amount of Eighty Thousand Dollars ($80,000.00) are budgeted and
appropriated from the Fund Balance of the General Fund to Project No. CI1821 – Homeless
Warming Shelter.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are authorized and directed to perform any and all acts
consistent with this Ordinance to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
Savings Clause: The immediate enactment of this Ordinance is necessary in order to
preserve and protect the health, safety and welfare of the residents of the City. Pursuant to Sec.
3-20 of the City Charter, this Ordinance shall become effective on the date of final action by the
Mayor and City Council.
