HomeMy WebLinkAbout09586 ORDINANCE NO. 9586 AN ORDINANCE, ESTABLISHING PROJECT NUMBER BC1903 AND BUDGETING AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS IN THE AMOUT OF $703,236 AS AWARDED IN GRANT 020019 AND TRANSFERING MATCHING FUNDS OF $175,809 FROM PROJECT NUMBER BC1902 FOR PURCHASING THREE CITY- LIFT VANS AND A PUEBLO TRANSIT HYBRID BUS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. Project Number BC1903 (5339 Bus Replacement Grant) is hereby established. SECTION 2. Funds in the amount of $703.236 are hereby budgeted and appropriated for Project No. BC 1903 (Bus Replacement Grant) to be used for the purposes authorized by the Agreement. SECTION 3. Funds in the total amount of $175,809 are hereby authorized to be transferred into Project No. BC1903 (Bus Replacement Grant) from BC1902. SECTION 4. The officers of the City are authorized and directed to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Ordinance to implement the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon final passage and approval. Action by City Council: Introduced and initial adoption of Ordinance by City Council on October 28, 2019. Gradisar, Mayor VIA: Brenda Armijo, City Clerk FROM: Benjamin Valdez, Transit Director SUBJECT: AN ORDINANCE, ESTABLISHING PROJECT NUMBER BC1903 AND BUDGETING AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS IN THE AMOUT OF $703,236 AS AWARDED IN GRANT 020019 AND TRANSFERING MATCHING FUNDS OF $175,809 FROM PROJECT NUMBER BC1902 FOR PURCHASING THREE CITY-LIFT VANS AND A PUEBLO TRANSIT HYBRID BUS SUMMARY: City of Pueblo shall use 2019 FTA-5339(a) funds in the amount of $703,236, along with local matching funds in the amount of $175,809, to purchase three (3) ADA gas BOC replacement vans and (1) 35' ADA LoFlr Hybrid Bus. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Approval of Ordinance 9539, on August 26, 2019, for Grant Agreement and Acceptance. BACKGROUND: Pueblo Transit has been awarded a Colorado Department of Transportation Federal Capital Grant (5339) for FY2019 funding in the amount of $703,236. These funds are intended to replace three cutaway vans for the Citi-Lift program and purchase one 35’ Low Floor Hybrid Bus for Pueblo Transit. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: The total cost will be $879,045. The 5339 Grant amount accepted is $703,236, with the twenty percent City match of $175,809. Staff time will be required for project management, as well as grant monitoring and reporting. The match will be from account BC 1902. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not applicable. ALTERNATIVES: None. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Ordinance.
