BACKGROUND:
The Mission of Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundations is to impact the lifesaving capabilities,
and the lives of local first responders and their communities. This is accomplished by providing
lifesaving equipment to first responders and public safety organizations. The City of Pueblo Fire
Department would like to apply for a grant to purchase an SCBA decontamination washer for a
total of $23,300.00. This decontamination washer is an automatic washing machine specifically
designed to thoroughly wash the entire SCBA, including the facepieces. The thorough cleaning
of the SCBA is critical in reducing the exposure of cancer-causing toxins to firefighters. If we are
awarded this grant, Firehouse Subs will pay for the total cost of the decontamination washer.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The total request will be for $23,300.00. There is no required match for this grant as Firehouse
Subs will completely pay for this decontamination washer. Staff time will be required for project
management, as well as grant monitoring and reporting.
