SUBJECT A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE PUEBLO CONSERVANCY
DISTRICT – JOINT APPOINTMENT
SUMMARY:
This Resolution ratifies the joint appointment to the Pueblo Conservancy District for a five-year
term expiring July 31, 2024.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Joint City-County appointments to the Pueblo Conservancy District are made on an annual
st
basis selecting individuals to serve staggered four-year terms expiring on July 31 of each year.
Resolutions to ratify the joint appointments are passed by each entity.
BACKGROUND
Due to the term expiration of Dennis Maroney there is one appointment available to serve a five-
year term expiring July 31, 2024 on the Pueblo Conservancy District as a Joint Appointment.
The recruitment process for 2019 was handled by the Pueblo County Staff seeking volunteers to
serve on this committee and received new applications from Joseph Mahaney and Keith
Townsend. Incumbent Dennis Maroney does wish to be considered for reappointment.
Applications were reviewed following the PACOG meeting held on September 26, 2019 where
Incumbent Dennis Maroney was selected by ballot as acceptable for reappointment.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
There are no financial implications to the City of Pueblo; however, appointed members receive a
monthly stipend of $200.00 paid by the Pueblo Conservancy District.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
None.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
None.
ALTERNATIVES:
City Council in agreement with the County Commissioners could remove the Resolution from
the Agenda, request that the recruitment process be extended in order to receive additional
applications for consideration.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the Resolution.

A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE PUEBLO
CONSERVANCY DISTRICT – JOINT APPOINTMENT
WHEREAS, there is one appointment to be filled on the Pueblo Conservancy District–
Joint Appointment. One appointment shall serve a five-year term expiring July 31, 2024; and,
WHEREAS, this Resolution ratifies the joint appointment made following the PACOG
meeting on September 26, 2019, by City-County Representatives who were present; NOW,
THEREFORE;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that:
SECTION 1:
The following individual is hereby appointed to the Pueblo Conservancy District-Joint
Appointment to serve a five-year term expiring July 31, 2024.

SECTION 2
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts
consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described
herein.
SECTION 3:
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval.
