HomeMy WebLinkAbout14298 RESOLUTION NO. 14298 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2019 GENERAL FUND BUDGET IN THE AMOUNT OF $250 TO THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF COLORED PEOPLE (NAACP) FOR THE ANNUAL FREEDOM FUND BANQUET BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. Payment in the amount of $250 from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2019 General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Pueblo Branch # 4005. SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: No previous council actions. BACKGROUND: City Council Member Ed Brown is requesting this sponsorship to support the NAACP Annual Freedom Fund Banquet. This year’s theme is “Respect the Past, By Changing the Future”. It will focus on bringing the Old and Young together for the betterment of our city, state and country. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funds in the amount of $250 would be paid from the Council Contingencies Account in the 2019 General Fund Budget to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NCAAP) Pueblo Branch #4005. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not Applicable. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not Applicable. ALTERNATIVES: City Council could choose not to support this resolution.
