A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE
COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2019
GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO PUEBLO FOOD PROJECT
NO. CO1902 IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,000 TO SPONSOR
THE 2019 INAUGURAL FOOD & AG SUMMIT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $1,000 from the Council Contingencies Account in the
2019 General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Pueblo Food Project.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and
all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and
procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a sponsorship request for the 2019 Inaugural Food & Ag
Summit.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
No previous council actions.
BACKGROUND:
City Council President Dennis E. Flores is requesting this sponsorship to support the 2019
Inaugural Food & Ag Summit. The Pueblo Food Project’s mission is to build a sustainable
food value chain that supports healthy people, environments and the economy through
networking, advocacy and education.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds in the amount of $1,000 would be transferred from the Council Contingencies
Account in the 2019 General Fund Budget to the Pueblo Food Project No. CO1902

Not Applicable.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:

ALTERNATIVES:
City Council could choose not to support this resolution.

City Council Members,
The Pueblo Food Project is requesting sponsorship for their 2019 Inaugural Food &Ag Summit.
In the Spring of 2019,Senator Michael Bennett and former CEO of Whole Foods,Walter Robb, organized
local stakeholders to develop a food value chain that creates positive community development and
economic growth.The Pueblo Food Project's mission is to build a sustainable food value chain that
supports healthy people, environments and the economy through networking advocacy and education.
On August 31, 2019, Pueblo Food Project adopted the Pueblo Food Council Charter and the Local Food
Value Chain. Within this meeting the 2019 Inaugural Food &Ag Summit transpired.
The 2019 Inaugural Food &Ag Summit is set for Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 8:00am -4:30pm at
Watertower Place.
