A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FROM THE
COUNCIL CONTINGENCIES ACCOUNT IN THE 2019
GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO PUEBLO MEMORIAL HALL
IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,000 FOR THE PUEBLO HAS
TALENT 2019 ENCORE PERFORMANCE “A
CELEBRATION OF LIFE & COMMUNITY”
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
Payment in the amount of $3,000 from the Council Contingencies Account in the
2019 General Fund Budget is authorized to be paid to Pueblo Memorial Hall.
SECTION 2.
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and
all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and
procedures described herein.
SECTION 3.
This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
Attached for consideration is a sponsorship request from the event promoter, Jesse Sena
for the Pueblo Has Talent 2019 Encore Performance.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
No previous council actions.
BACKGROUND:
City Council Member Mark Aliff is requesting the sponsorship to support the community
event. For six years, Pueblo Has Talent has provided a platform for local and regional
entertainment artists to serve out generous portions of outstanding entertainment while
demonstrating skill and creativity. This encore performance will provide the Pueblo
community an opportunity to celebrate our exceptional local talent and to celebrate the
gift of life. The entertainers will include: musical soloists, an aerial artist, dancers and a
dance group, a five-piece singing group, a stage illusion magic act, poetry and drama,
pole art performance and guitarists.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds in the amount of $3,000 would be paid from the Council Contingencies Account in
the 2019 General Fund Budget to Pueblo Memorial Hall.

Not Applicable.

REGARDING: Pueblo Has Talent 2019 ENCORE
Greetings Pueblo City Council, the following is an event that I am asking council to
financially support. I am requesting $3000.00 that would go towards the $3,267.50
rental fee for Memorial Hall. This is not a money-making event and no one is making
money or getting paid for their services except for the rental agreement with SPECTRA.

Pueblo Has Talent is pleased to present an Encore performance from the 2019
Finals, involving encore performances by many of the top 25 finalists. The 2019 finals
were highlighted by exceptional performances many of which contained messages
regarding suicide prevention, mental health, finding hope and encouragement, and
other important topics. As a means of reaching beyond the Pueblo Has Talent stage and
arena, this encore performance will provide to our community an opportunity to
celebrate our exceptional local talent and to celebrate the gift of life.
Many of the top 25 finalists will be performing 4 minute routines centered on a
message of celebrating life and community. Pueblo does have talent! Six years of PHT
has provided a platform for local and regional entertainment artists to serve out
generous portions of outstanding entertainment while demonstrating skill and creativity.
The surprising contribution to the 2019 PHT was the repetitive message given in many
of the performances; a message of finding and living in a state of hope, courage, and
ongoing encouragement. The entertainers include; musical soloists, an aerial artist,
dancers and a dance group, a five-piece singing group, a stage illusion magic act,
poetry and drama, pole art performance, and guitarists.
Along with an evening of great entertainment, several community service agencies
will have information tables at the auditorium providing information on mental health
topics and resources that are available to the community. The mission and goal for the
evening is that the attendees and participants will experience an entertaining, fun filled
evening, that carries a message of hope and encouragement. It truly will be, "A
Celebration of Life and Community!"
