Gradisar FROM: Brenda Armijo, Acting City Clerk SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE MAYOR OF LAURA GETTS AND NINA VETTER AS MEMBERS OF THE ELECTRIC UTILITY COMMISSION SUMMARY: This Resolution approves and confirms the appointment by the Mayor of Laura Getts and Nina Vetter as members and off the Electric Utility Commission (EUC). PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: On November 13, 2017 by Resolution No. 13820, the City Council created the Electric Utility Commission, whose mission is to advise the Mayor and Council whether the City, operating as a Municipal Electric Utility, could successfully provide electric utility service beginning on August 11, 2020. Resolution 13820 also made appointments to the Electric Utility Commission. BACKGROUND: Laura Getts is the Energy Coordinator for Pueblo County. The Mayor has nominated her to replace Chris Markuson who has recently left County employment. Nina Vetter is the District Manager of the Pueblo West Metropolitan District (“PWMD”). The Mayor has nominated her to replace Darrin Tangeman who has left PWMD employment. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable to this Resolution. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None. ALTERNATIVES: Not applicable to this Resolution. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Resolution. ATTACHMENTS: Proposed Resolution. RESOLUTION NO. 14214 A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE MAYOR OF LAURA GETTS AND NINA VETTER AS MEMBERS OF THE ELECTRIC UTILITY COMMISSION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: SECTION 1. The appointment by the Mayor of the following individuals as members of the Electric Utility Commission, shall be and hereby is confirmed and approved: Laura Getts, Energy Coordinator of Pueblo County Nina Vetter, District Manager of the Pueblo West Metropolitan District SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are authorized and directed to perform any and all acts consistent with this Resolution to effectuate the appointments described herein. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval.
