PL1901, ACCEPTING GRANT FUNDS FROM EL POMAR FOUNDATION AND TRUSSTEES AND BUDGETING AND APPROPRIATING SAID FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,000 RELATING TO THE PUEBLO VISITOR CENTER, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE GRANT APPLICATION AND AGREEMENT WHEREAS, El Pomar Foundation and Trustees have offered grant funds to the City of Pueblo; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The Grant Application and Agreement between the City of Pueblo, a Colorado Municipal Corporation, and EL Pomar Foundation and Trustees (hereinafter referred to as the “Agreement”), a copy of which is attached hereto and having been approved as to form by the City Attorney, is hereby approved. The Mayor is authorized to execute and deliver said Application and Agreement in the name of the City and the Acting City Clerk is directed to affix the seal of the City thereto and attest same. SECTION 2. Funds in the amount of $25,000 are hereby budgeted and appropriated for the Pueblo Visitor Center Project, PL1901. SECTION 3. The officers and staff of the City are authorized and directed to perform any and all acts consistent with this Ordinance and the attached Application and Agreement to implement the policies and procedures described therein. SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall become effective on the date of final action by the Mayor and City Council. The Ordinance also accepts grant funds from El Pomar Foundation and Trustees related to the Pueblo Visitor Center and budgets and appropriates funds in the amount of $25,000 into Project, PL1901. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None. BACKGROUND: The City has received a grant on behalf of The Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce in the amount of $25,000 from El Pomar Foundation and Trustees to provide furnishings and signage for the Pueblo Visitor Center at the Expanded Pueblo Convention Center. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The grant funds in the amount of $25,000 will be available from Project, PL1901. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None. ALTERNATIVES: The Project will not go forward if the Ordinance is not approved. RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve the Ordinance.
