CIAN22 – ROOF MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR FOR HAIL DAMAGE REPAIRS AT PUEBLO MOUNTAIN PARK’S HORSESHOE LODGE AND AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF CITY COUNCIL TO EXECUTE THE SAME SUMMARY: This Ordinance transfers, budgets and appropriates insurance proceeds in the amount of $79,737.63 for the replacement of the roof that was damaged by hail at Pueblo Mountain Park’s Horseshoe Lodge. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None. BACKGROUND: In 2017, the Horseshoe Lodge in Pueblo Mountain Park sustained significant roof damage caused by a major hail storm. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: CIRSA issued a portion of the insurance settlement of $32,546.77 to the City in November 2018. When the roof is replaced, the balance of the insurance settlement in the amount of $47,190.86 will also be issued as payment to the City. The total amount of the insurance proceeds is $79,737.63 and will transfer the $32,546.77 from the unappropriated fund balance of the self-insurance fund, budgeted and appropriated to Capital Project No. CIAN22 – Roof Replacement and Repair. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None ALTERNATIVES: Denying the Ordinance will cause the proceeds to be returned and the project canceled. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Ordinance. Attachment: None ORDINANCE NO. 9407 AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING, BUDGETING AND APPROPRIATING INSURANCE PROCEEDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $79,737.63 INTO CAPITAL PROJECT NO. CIAN22 – ROOF MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR FOR HAIL DAMAGE REPAIRS AT PUEBLO MOUNTAIN PARK’S HORSESHOE LODGE AND AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF CITY COUNCIL TO EXECUTE THE SAME WHEREAS, in the spring of 2017, the Horseshoe Lodge located at the Pueblo Mountain Park, experienced a major hail storm; and WHEREAS, the City has received proceeds from the insurance company for the costs to repair such damages; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. Funds in the amount of $32,546.77 are hereby transferred from the unappropriated fund balance of the self-insurance fund to Capital Project No. CIAN22 - Roof Maintenance and Repair. SECTION 3. Upon receipt, insurance proceeds in the amount of $47,190.86 shall be budgeted, appropriated, and transferred into Capital Project No. CIAN22 - Roof Maintenance and Repair. SECTION 4. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Ordinance. SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall become effective on the date of final action by the Mayor and City Council.
