HomeMy WebLinkAbout09400 ORDINANCE NO. 9400 AN ORDINANCE BUDGETING AND APPROPRIATING INSURANCE PROCEEDS FROM THE UNAPPROPRIATED TRANSIT FUND BALANCE IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,460.23 FOR A DAMAGED BUS AND DEPOSITING SAID FUNDS INTO 2019 PUEBLO TRANSIT OPERATING BUDGET WHEREAS, on November 21, 2018, Pueblo Transit bus 101 was involved in an accident resulting in significant damage; and WHEREAS, the City has received proceeds from the insurance company in the amount of $20,460.23 for the damages; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. Insurance proceeds in the amount of $20,460.23 shall be budgeted, appropriated and deposited into Pueblo Transit’s 2019 Operating Budget. SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Ordinance and the attached agreement to effectuate the transactions described therein. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon final passage. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None BACKGROUND: Pueblo Transit bus 101 was damaged in an accident on November 21, 2018. The bus was hit by a pick-up truck that ran a red signal indication at the intersection of Pueblo Blvd & Hollywood Drive. The value of damages is $20,460.23. This ordinance will budget and appropriate the insurance proceeds into 2019 Pueblo Transit Operating Budget to purchase the replacement parts for the bus. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: None BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Pueblo Transit Board recommends approval. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not applicable. ALTERNATIVES: Should this Ordinance not pass, funds for the replacement parts will come from the 2019 Pueblo Transit Operating Budget. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Ordinance.
