HomeMy WebLinkAbout14140 RESOLUTION NO. 14140 A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING PUBLIC PLACES FOR THE POSTING OF NOTICE OF MEETINGS FOR THE PUEBLO CITY COUNCIL FOR THE YEAR 2019 WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 24-6-402(2)(c) C.R.S., any meetings at which the adoption of a proposed policy, position, resolution, rule, regulation or formal action occurs, or at which a majority or quorum of the body is in attendance, or is expected to be in attendance, shall be held only after full and timely notice is given to the public; and WHEREAS, the public places for posting such notices shall be designated annually at the local public body’s first regular meeting of each calendar year; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1: The bulletin board located outside the Office of the City Clerk on the first floor of City Hall, #1 City Hall Place, Pueblo, Colorado, and the City of Pueblo’s Webpage (www.pueblo.us), are hereby designated as the two public places for posting of notice of meetings for the Pueblo City Council. The posting shall include specific agenda information when possible. SECTION 2: The notice of meetings shall be posted no less than twenty-four hours prior to the holding of the meeting. SECTION 3. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 4. This Resolution shall become effective upon passage and approval. Nicoll and Members of City Council CC: Sam Azad, City Manager VIA: Office of the City Clerk FROM: Brenda Armijo, Acting City Clerk SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING PUBLIC PLACES FOR THE POSTING OF NOTICE OF MEETINGS FOR THE PUEBLO CITY COUNCIL FOR THE YEAR 2019 SUMMARY: This Resolution designates the public places for the posting of notices of all meetings of the City Council at which the adoption of a proposed policy, position, resolution, rule, regulation or formal action occurs, or at which a majority or quorum of the body is in attendance or is expected to be in attendance. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: The public place for posting official notice for such public meetings is designated annually at the first regular meeting of each calendar year. BACKGROUND: Pursuant to 24-6-402(2)(c) C.R.S., any meetings at which the adoption of a proposed policy, position, resolution, rule, regulation or formal action occurs, or at which a majority or quorum of the body is in attendance, or is expected to be in attendance, shall be held only after full and timely notice is given to the public. The public place for posting such notice shall be designated annually at the local public body’s first regular meeting of each calendar year. Traditionally City Hall has been the designated public place for the posting of notice of meetings, specifically the bulletin board on the first floor under the supervision of the City Clerk. In 2014, the City’s Webpage was added as an additional designated public place for the posting of notice of meetings. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: None. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not Applicable for this Resolution. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not Applicable for this Resolution. ALTERNATIVES: Designate a different location as the official bulletin board. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Resolution.
