A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE
HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that:
SECTION 1:
The following individuals are hereby reappointed to the Historic Preservation Commission
to complete four-year terms expiring January 1, 2023.
Christopher Markuson
Anthony P. Perko
Andy Sanchez
SECTION 2:
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts
consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described
herein.
SECTION 3:
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval.

SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION
COMMISSION
SUMMARY:
This Resolution appoints three individuals to the Historic Preservation Commission to serve four-
year terms expiring January 1, 2023.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Appointments to the Historic Preservation Commission are made on an annual basis selecting
st
individuals to serve terms expiring on January 1 of each year.
BACKGROUND:
Due to the term expiration of Committee members Christopher Markuson and Andy Sanchez and
the resignation of Michael Klaus there are three appointments available to serve four-year terms
expiring January 1, 2023.
Following advertisements published in the Pueblo Chieftain, an announcement on the City Clerk’s
webpage seeking volunteers to serve on this committee one new application was received from
Anthony P. Perko. Incumbent Christopher Markuson and Andy Sanchez do wish to be
reconsidered for reappointment. Although Incumbent Christopher Markuson is term limited,
however, Resolution No. 13614, setting term limits for Council Appointed Boards and
Commissions, states: “After serving two consecutive terms, an incumbent applicant may not serve
again on the same board or commission until a subsequent full term has transpired, unless the
City Council determines that there are no new applicants who are suitable and qualified.”
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation.

None.
ALTERNATIVES:
Remove from agenda and re-advertise for additional applications.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the Resolution.
