SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE PUEBLO STREETSCAPE
ADVISORY COMMITTEE
SUMMARY:
This Resolution appoints a member to the Pueblo Streetscape Advisory Committee to serve a
three-year term expiring November 1, 2021.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Appointments to the Pueblo Streetscape Advisory Committee are made on an annual basis
st
selecting individuals to serve three-year terms expiring on November 1 of each year.
BACKGROUND:
Due to the term expirations of Committee members Steven Schroeder and Susie Murzynski,
there are two appointments that are available on the Pueblo Streetscape Advisory Committee.
Following an advertisement published in The Pueblo Chieftain and an announcement on the
City’s webpage seeking volunteers to serve on this committee, no new applications were
received. Ms. Murzynski does not wish to be considered for reappointment. Committee
member Steven Schroeder is term limited; however, Resolution No. 13614, setting term limits
for Council Appointed Boards and Commissions, states: “After serving two consecutive terms,
an incumbent applicant may not serve again on the same board or commission until a
subsequent full term has transpired, unless the City Council determines that there are no new
applicants who are suitable and qualified.”
There remains one available appointment on this board.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
This is a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
None.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
None.
ALTERNATIVES:
Remove from agenda and re-advertise for additional applications.
RECOMMENDATION:
