AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING CAPITAL PROJECT NO.
CIAN22 - ROOF MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR,
TRANSFERRING, BUDGETING, AND APPROPRIATING
INSURANCE PROCEEDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $335,000 FOR
WIND DAMAGE REPAIRS AND DEPOSITING SAID FUNDS AND
AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF CITY COUNCIL TO
EXECUTE THE SAME
WHEREAS, in the spring of 2017, the building located at 230 S. Mechanic Street
experienced a major wind storm; and
WHEREAS, the City has received proceeds from the insurance company for the costs to
repair such damages; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that:
SECTION 1.
Capital Project No. CIAN22 - Roof Maintenance and Repair is hereby established.
SECTION 2.
Funds in the amount of $30,000 are hereby transferred from the self-insurance fund #601
to Capital Project No. CIAN22 - Roof Maintenance and Repair.
SECTION 3.
Upon receipt, insurance proceeds in the amount of $305,000 shall be budgeted,
appropriated, and transferred into Capital Project No. CIAN22 - Roof Maintenance and Repair.
SECTION 4.
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts
consistent with the intent of this Ordinance.
SECTION 5.
This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon final passage and approval.

SUMMARY:
This Ordinance budgets and appropriates insurance proceeds in the amount of $335,000
for the replacement of the roof that was damaged by wind at the Purchasing Building.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
None.
BACKGROUND:
In 2016 the Purchasing Building sustained significant roof damage caused by a major
wind storm.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
Funds in the amount of $30,000 from the self-insurance fund #601 will be transferred to
CIAN22 - Roof Maintenance and Repair. Additional funds in the amount of $305,000 will
be deposited into CIAN22 - Roof Maintenance and Repair. Total funds in the amount of
$335,000 will be used to repair the wind damaged roof.

None.

None
ALTERNATIVES:
Denying the Ordinance will cause the proceeds to be returned and the project canceled.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the Ordinance.
