A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE COMMUNITY
SERVICES ADVISORY COMMISSION (CSAC) – JOINT CITY-
COUNTY APPOINTMENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that:
SECTION 1:
The following individual is hereby appointed to the Community Services Advisory
Commission to complete a four-year term expiring April 30, 2021.
Deborah Nava Watson__
SECTION 2:
The following individuals are hereby appointed to the Community Services Advisory
Commission to serve four-year terms expiring April 30, 2022.
Henry C. Roman
SECTION 3:
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts
consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described
herein.
SECTION 4:
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval.

SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE COMMUNITY SERVICES
ADVISORY COMMISSION (CSAC) – JOINT CITY-COUNTY APPOINTMENT
SUMMARY:
This Resolution ratifies the joint City-County selections to the Community Services Advisory
Commission (CSAC).
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Joint City-County appointments to the Community Services Advisory Commission are made on
th
an annual basis selecting individuals to serve staggered four-year terms expiring on April 30 of
each year. Resolutions to ratify the joint appointments are passed by each entity.
BACKGROUND:
Due to the resignation of members Eileen Dennis, Rondall Cothran, James Stuart and Lauren Hill
Turner, there are four appointments available on the Community Services Advisory Commission.
One appointment is to complete a four-year term expiring April 30, 2020, two appointments are
to complete four-year terms expiring April 30, 2021 and one appointment is to complete a four-
year term expiring April 30, 2022.
Advertisements were published in the Pueblo Chieftain, announcements on the City Clerk’s and
Pueblo County government webpages and social media seeking volunteers to serve on this
committee, two new applications were received from Henry C. Roman and Deborah Nava
Watson.
Applications were reviewed following the PACOG meeting held on September 27, 2018, and both
applicants were acceptable for appointment.
Two vacancies still exist for this particular Board.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
None.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
The Community Services Advisory Commission studies the needs of the community in the areas
of health and human services, recreation, arts and culture, environmental/conservation and
economic development; reviews and analyzes proposals that are submitted to the Pueblo County
and City of Pueblo Partnership during the annual Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including
conducting interviews and performing site visits of agencies submitting proposals; makes final
recommendations to the City and County officials for funding consideration on an annual basis,
or as needed in an emergency situation; and works on other issues and projects as assigned to
them by the Public Officials.
ALTERNATIVES:
City Council in agreement with the County Commissioners could remove the Resolution from the
Agenda, request that the recruitment process be extended in order to receive additional
applications for consideration.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the Resolution.
