The date has been set for Saturday November 17, 2018 at the Pueblo Ice Arena. This event will be in its 3rd year and has been a proven positive community wide success. The vast majority of attendees are families who have continuously supported our efforts to help the children in need, enjoyed watching a great game of hockey, and skated in the free skate session after the game. Funds raised at this event help support several programs the Pueblo Police Department coordinates to help our underprivileged children in need. The main program the Ice Cup supports is our annual, Heroes and Helpers or"Shop with Cop"event. This program takes Boys and Girls Club children on a shopping spree with local law enforcement officers who volunteer their time prior to Christmas. We also collect new toys at the game for our patrol officers to hand out to kids they meet here within our Pueblo Community. This helps us build better relationships with our Community Policing efforts, and for some children, these toys go a long way in making a bad situation a positive one when police must be involved. This year with sponsorship money we plan to purchase items to giveaway to the crowd, jerseys and socks for the players on both the Police and Fire teams, provide the free skate rental and skate session after the game, purchase promotional material to include, banners, flyers, advertisement etc., and purchase additional items to sell with funds going back to the charity. I am currently seeking a$1,000.00 sponsorship from City Council to support this year's event and community cause. Your sponsorship will highlight your support of our community and children in need while partnering with the Police and Fire departments. Thank you for your consideration and continuous support of the Pueblo community!
