SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION APPROVING A DONATION OF EQUIPMENT TO THE CITY OF
PUEBLO AND PUEBLO POLICE DEPARTMENT RELATING TO THE
FLORENCE POLICE DEPARTMENT’S GIFT OF TWO BOMB SUITS
SUMMARY:
Attached is a Resolution outlining the donation of two bomb suits to the Pueblo Police Department
by the Florence Police Department
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
None
BACKGROUND:
The Pueblo Metro Bomb Squad responds to bomb calls in surrounding counties of Southern
Colorado. The Pueblo Metro Bomb Squad has assisted the Florence Police Department on
several calls over the past years and the Florence Chief of Police wanted to show his appreciation
by donating equipment. The Pueblo Metro Bomb Squad currently has two large suits that have
been utilized frequently and are needing to be replaced. The large suits also are too big for the
smaller statured team members.
The Florence Chief of Police located several used bomb suits, purchased them and has two
available to donate to the Pueblo Metro Bomb Squad. The acquired suits are in like new condition.
There is a medium suit, which will better fit the smaller statured members and a large suit to fit
the larger members. The two suits are EOD 8 suits, complete with helmets and control boxes,
with a total approximate value of $10,000.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
There will be no cost to the City of Pueblo or the Pueblo Police Department in accepting or utilizing
these suits.
