HomeMy WebLinkAbout13970 RESOLUTION NO. 13970 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE PUEBLO HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION – CITY APPOINTMENT BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: SECTION 1: The following individual is hereby appointed to the Pueblo Human Relations Commission - City Appointment to complete a three-year term expiring December 31, 2019. Kathleen D. Javaneau SECTION 2: The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Appointments to the Pueblo Human Relations Commission are made on an annual basis st selecting individuals to serve terms expiring on December 31 of each year. BACKGROUND: Due to the removal of member Brianna A. Buentello-Hinrichsen, there is one vacancy available on the Pueblo Human Relations Commission-City appointment to complete a three-year term expiring December 31, 2019. Following advertisements published in the Pueblo Chieftain, announcements on the City Clerk’s and Pueblo County Government webpages seeking volunteers to serve on this committee, an application was received from the following individual: Kathleen D. Janaveau New, Resident of the City of Pueblo  FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None. ALTERNATIVES: City Council could remove the Resolution from the Agenda, and request that the recruitment process be extended. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Resolution.
