A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE COMMUNITY
SERVICES ADVISORY COMMISSION (CSAC) – JOINT CITY-COUNTY
APPOINTMENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that:
SECTION 1:
The following individuals are hereby appointed to the Community Services Advisory
Commission to serve four-year terms expiring April 30, 2022.
Linda Crawford
Pablo Mora
Cathy Valenzuela
Lauren Hill Turner
SECTION 2:
The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts
consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described
herein.
SECTION 3:
This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval.

SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE COMMUNITY SERVICES
ADVISORY COMMISSION (CSAC) – JOINT CITY-COUNTY APPOINTMENT
SUMMARY:
This Resolution ratifies the joint City-County selections to the Community Services Advisory
Commission (CSAC).
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Joint City-County appointments to the Community Services Advisory Commission are made on
th
an annual basis selecting individuals to serve staggered four-year terms expiring on April 30 of
each year. Resolutions to ratify the joint appointments are passed by each entity.
BACKGROUND:
Due to the term expiration of members Linda Crawford, Kelly Gehlhoff, Pablo Mora and Cathy
Valenzuela, there are four appointments available on the Community Services Advisory
Commission to serve four-year terms expiring April 30, 2022. Also, due to the resignation of
Eileen Dennis, there is one appointment available to complete a four-year term expiring April 30,
2020.
Incumbents Linda Crawford, Pablo Mora and Cathy Valenzuela each stated they wish to be
considered for reappointment. Incumbent Kelly Gehlhoff does not wish to be reappointed.
Advertisements were published in the Pueblo Chieftain, announcements on the City Clerk’s and
Pueblo County government webpage seeking volunteers to serve on this committee, one new
application was received from Lauren Hill Turner.
Applications were reviewed following the PACOG meeting held on March 22, 2018, and all
applicants were acceptable for appointment.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
None.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS:
The Community Services Advisory Commission studies the needs of the community in the areas
of health and human services, recreation, arts and culture, environmental/conservation and
economic development; reviews and analyzes proposals that are submitted to the Pueblo County
and City of Pueblo Partnership during the annual Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including
conducting interviews and performing site visits of agencies submitting proposals; makes final
recommendations to the City and County officials for funding consideration on an annual basis,
or as needed in an emergency situation; and works on other issues and projects as assigned to
them by the Public Officials.
ALTERNATIVES:
City Council in agreement with the County Commissioners could remove the Resolution from the
Agenda, request that the recruitment process be extended in order to receive additional
applications for consideration.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approval of the Resolution.
