CI 1812, FIRE STATION FACILITY CONDITION ASSESSMENT, SETTING FORTH $12,300.00 FOR CONTINGENCIES AND ADDITIONAL WORK AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME WHEREAS, proposals for Project No. CI 1812, Fire Station Facility Condition Assessment, have been received and examined; and WHEREAS, the proposal of Pacheco Ross Architects, P.C., was deemed to be most advantageous to the City and in the best interest of the City based on the evaluation factors set forth in the Request for Proposals; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. Subject to and conditioned upon passage and approval of Ordinance No. 9246 establishing, budgeting and appropriating $95,000 for Project No. CI1812, the contract for Project No. CI 1812, Fire Station Facility Condition Assessment, is awarded to said bidder in the amount of $82,700; the Purchasing Agent is authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation; the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same; and the additional amount of $12,300.00 is established for contingencies and additional work for said project. SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution and the contract to effectuate the transactions described therein. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval. CI 1812, FIRE STATION FACILITY CONDITION ASSESSMENT, SETTING FORTH $12,300.00 FOR CONTINGENCIES AND ADDITIONAL WORK AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME SUMMARY: This Resolution awards a contract to Pacheco Ross Architects, P.C. for work associated with conducting a fire station facilities condition assessment and related reports. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None. BACKGROUND: Many of our aging fire stations need significant repairs and upgrades related to safety and livability. This study will produce a report on the condition of eight of our older fire stations. The study will focus on safety considerations, station infrastructure, and spatial needs. It will prioritize needs, along with associated costs, and offer alternatives up to and including replacement of stations. The report will become our masterplan and be used to prioritize needed improvements and or replacement of the city’s fire stations. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funding for this project will come from the 2018 capital improvement fund balance and this resolution is contingent upon the approval of an ordinance budgeting and appropriating those funds. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not applicable. ALTERNATIVES: If this contract is not approved, the study will not take place and the planning process for fire station upgrades and replacements will be delayed. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the Resolution. Attachments: Agreement for Professional Architectural Engineering Services.
