HomeMy WebLinkAbout13913RESOLUTION NO. 13913 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $108,477.81 TO CORTEZ CONSTRUCTION CO., INC. FOR PROJECT NO. 18-023, SAINT ANNE’S BALLPARK RENOVATION (CDBG) PROJECT, SETTING FORTH $5,655.19 FOR CONTINGENCIES AND ADDITIONAL WORK, AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME WHEREAS, proposals for PROJECT NO. 18-023 (CD1612), SAINT ANNE’S BALLPARK RENOVATION (CDBG), have been received and examined, and; WHEREAS, the proposal of Cortez Construction Co., Inc., of Pueblo, Colorado was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsible; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. A contract for PROJECT NO. 18-023 (CD1612), SAINT ANNE’S BALLPARK RENOVATION (CDBG), is hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $108,477.81. SECTION 2. In addition to the amount of the bid set forth, as aforementioned, an additional amount of $5,655.19 is hereby authorized for contingencies and additional work. SECTION 3. The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same. SECTION 4. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval. FOR PROJECT NO. 18-023, SAINT ANNE’S BALLPARK RENOVATION (CDBG) PROJECT, SETTING FORTH $5,655.19 FOR CONTINGENCIES AND ADDITIONAL WORK, AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME SUMMARY: This resolution awards a Construction Contract to Cortez Construction Co., Inc. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None. BACKGROUND: This project will consist of the removal of existing fence and the installation of new chain link fence, baseball/softball backstop, removal and replacement of curb & gutter, 7” reinforced concrete, 4” and 6” concrete, installation of ADA tactile band, handrail, and other incidental items related to the construction as detailed in the plans and specifications for this project. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funds for this project will be paid out of account CD1612 St. Anne’s Park Ball Field Rehab. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not Applicable STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None ALTERNATIVES: Denying the Resolution will result in cancellation of the project. RECOMMENDATION : Approval of the Resolution.
