HomeMy WebLinkAbout13910RESOLUTION NO. 13910 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE PUEBLO REGIONAL BUILDING COMMISSION - CITY APPOINTMENT BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: SECTION 1 The following individual is hereby appointed to the Pueblo Regional Building Commission – City Appointment for a three-year term expiring October 1, 2020. John Ribal SECTION 2 The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 3 This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval. Nicholl and Members of City Council CC: Sam Azad, City Manager VIA: City Clerk’s Office FROM: Brenda Armijo, Acting City Clerk SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A MEMBER TO THE PUEBLO REGIONAL BUILDING COMMISSION – CITY APPOINTMENT SUMMARY: This Resolution appoints a member to the Pueblo Regional Building Commission – City Appointment for a three-year term expiring October 1, 2020. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Appointments to the Pueblo Regional Building Commission are made on an annual basis selecting st individuals to serve three-year terms expiring on October 1 of each year. BACKGROUND: Due to the term expiration of member Louis Spera there is one appointment to serve a three-year term expiring October 1, 2020 on the Regional Building Commission. Mr. Spera is term limited and ineligible to be reappointed at this time. Following an advertisement published in the Pueblo Chieftain an announcement on the City Clerk’s webpage and the City of Pueblo social media outlets, the following applications were received from: APPLICANT RESIDENCY John Ribal Resident of City of Pueblo Robert Vigil Resident of City of Pueblo All applicants were interviewed on February 21, 2018 by Member of City Council Larry Atencio. The recommendation for appointment is John Ribal to serve the three-year term expiring October 1, 2020. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None ALTERNATIVES: City Council could remove the Resolution from the Agenda, request that the recruitment process be extended, and order the public notice for applications be republished in order to receive additional applications for consideration.
