HomeMy WebLinkAbout13891 RESOLUTION NO. 13891 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING TWO MEMBERS TO THE PUEBLO URBAN RENEWAL AUTHORITY BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The following individuals are hereby appointed to the Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority to serve five-year terms expiring February 1, 2023. Patrick Avalos David Abeyta SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Appointments to the Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority are made on an annual basis selecting st individuals to serve five-year terms expiring on February 1 of each year. BACKGROUND: Due to the term expirations of Committee members David Abeyta and Patrick Avalos, there are two appointments to be made to serve five-year terms expiring February 1, 2023. Incumbents David Abeyta and Patrick Avalos both wish to be considered for reappointment. Following advertisements in the Pueblo Chieftain and an announcement on the City’s webpage seeking volunteers to serve on this committee, one new application was received after the deadline. All applicants are residents of the City of Pueblo. Member of Council Dennis Flores reviewed the applications and is recommending that David Abeyta and Patrick Avalos be appointed to serve five-year terms expiring February 1, 2023. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: This a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable for this Resolution STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not applicable for this Resolution ALTERNATIVES: Remove the Resolution, request that the recruitment process be extended, and re-advertise for additional applications.
