HomeMy WebLinkAbout13867 RESOLUTION NO. 13867 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE ELECTRIC UTILITY COMMISSION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The following persons are hereby appointed to serve as members of the Electric Utility Commission:  Seth Clayton , Residential rate payer of Black Hills Energy  Thomas Corlett , Commercial rate payer of Black Hills Energy  Tommy Farrell , Industrial rate payer of Black Hills Energy SECTION 2. The officers of the City are authorized and directed to take any and all actions which are necessary or appropriate to implement the policies or procedures described herein. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon final passage and approval. Nawrocki and Members of City Council VIA: Brenda Armijo, Acting City Clerk FROM: Sam Azad, City Manager SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE ELECTRIC UTILITY COMMISSION SUMMARY: Attached is a Resolution appointing additional members to the Electric Utility Commission. This Resolution fills the three (3) remaining vacancies on the Commission. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: On November 13, 2017 by Resolution No. 13820, the City Council created the Electric Utility Commission, whose mission is to advise City Council whether the City, operating as a Municipal Electric Utility, could successfully provide electric utility service beginning on August 11, 2020. Resolution 13820 also made the following appointments to the Electric Utility Commission:  Larry Atencio, Member of City Council  Chris Nicoll, Member of City Council  Christopher Markuson, Representative of Pueblo County  Darrin Tangeman, Representative of the Pueblo West Metropolitan District BACKGROUND: The attached Resolution makes the following appointments to the Electric Utility Commission:  , Residential rate payer of Black Hills Energy  , Commercial rate payer of Black Hills Energy  , Industrial rate payer of Black Hills Energy FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: It will be necessary for the City to hire and retain legal, financial and operational experts to conduct feasibility studies and to advise the Electric Utility Commission. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable to this Resolution. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not applicable to this Resolution. ALTERNATIVES: If this Resolution is not approved, there will be three (3) vacancies on the Electric Utility Commission. RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution. Attachments: Proposed Resolution
