HomeMy WebLinkAbout13819RESOLUTION NO. 13819 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE PUEBLO STREETSCAPE ADVISORY COMMITTEE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: SECTION 1 The following individuals are hereby appointed to the Pueblo Streetscape Advisory Committee for three-year terms expiring November 1, 2020: William Adams Barbara Vidmar Laura (Lori) Winner Terra Riggio SECTION 2 The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 3 This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval. Nawrocki and Members of City Council CC: Sam Azad, City Manager VIA: City Clerk’s Office FROM: Brenda Armijo, Acting City Clerk SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE PUEBLO STREETSCAPE ADVISORY COMMITTEE SUMMARY: This Resolution appoints four members to the Pueblo Streetscape Advisory Committee for three-year terms expiring November 1, 2020. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Appointments to the Pueblo Streetscape Advisory Committee are made on an annual basis st selecting individuals to serve three-year terms expiring on November 1 of each year. BACKGROUND: Due to the term expiration of Committee members William Adams, Diane Patterson, Barbara Vidmar and Laura (Lori) Winner there are four appointments that need to be made on the Pueblo Streetscape Advisory Committee. Ms. Patterson has moved out of town and does not wish to be considered for reappointment. Committee Members William Adams, Barbara Vidmar, and Laura (Lori) Winner are term limited; however, Resolution No. 13614, setting term limits for Council Appointed Boards and Commissions, states: “After serving two consecutive terms, an incumbent applicant may not serve again on the same board or commission until a unless the City Council determines that there are no subsequent full term has transpired, new applicants who are suitable and qualified. ” Following two separate advertisements in the Pueblo Chieftain and an announcement on the City’s webpage seeking volunteers to serve on this committee, only one new application was received. All applicants are residents of the City of Pueblo FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: This is a volunteer committee and members serve without compensation. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable for this Resolution STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not applicable for this Resolution ALTERNATIVES: Remove the Resolution, request that the recruitment process be extended, and re-advertise for additional applications.
