SUBJECT:
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING PROJECT SW 1703 TREE SERVICES
FOR STORMWATER DRAINAGEWAYS, TRANSFERRING FUNDS IN
THE AMOUNT OF $58,283.13 THEREFOR
SUMMARY:
This Resolution establishes Capital Project No. SW 1703 Tree Services for Stormwater
Drainageways, which will remove trees and stumps, and provide tree trimming for trees
located in public drainageways within the City of Pueblo.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION
:
None
BACKGROUND
:
Within some public drainageways throughout the City, undesirable trees have established
that are creating safety concerns for the public and private property. Trees have grown
to such height whereas City crews do not have the equipment and expertise to remove
them safely. This Resolution will allow the use of professional tree services that also
carry the required insurance.
The project will have two (2) locations that will remove trees that are dangerous and
causing impediment to drainage. Also, there is a provision that will allow Stormwater to
quickly deal with dangerous trees on a case by case situation needing immediate
attention.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS
:
Funds will be transferred from the Storm Utility User Funds to Project No. SW 1703 to
cover the cost of the project.
BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION
:
Not applicable.
STAKEHOLDER PROCESS
:
None.
ALTERNATIVES
:
Alternative No. 1 – No Action
Under this alternative, certain trees located within the public drainageways that are in
danger of causing damage to private property, safety concerns for the public, or
interfering with the proper operation of the drainage facility will not be removed or
trimmed.
RECOMMENDATION
:
Approval of the Resolution.
