Nawrocki and Members of City Council CC: Sam Azad, City Manager VIA: Gina Dutcher, City Clerk FROM: Earl Wilkinson, P.E., Director of Public Works SUBJECT: AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT CI1707 – FLEET MAINTENANCE ROOFTOP MAKE-UP AIR UNIT REPLACEMENT PROJECT, BUDGETING AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $300,000 FOR SAID PROJECT, AND TRANSFERRING FUNDS FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND SUMMARY: This Ordinance establishes a capital project, budgets and appropriates funds in the amount of $300,000 for the Fleet Maintenance Rooftop Make-up Air Unit Replacement Project. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None. BACKGROUND: This project will replace deteriorated rooftop make-up air units servicing the City of Pueblo Fleet Maintenance facility located at 300 E. “D” Street. The deterioration and age of the existing units are causing malfunctions and are not economically repairable. In general, this project will replace five rooftop units to include the demolition of the existing make-up air units and the installation of new make-up air units, modifications to existing ductwork, and any code required electrical upgrades. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: The total project cost is $300,000. Funding will come from the Capital Improvement Fund. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not Applicable ALTERNATIVES: Repair the existing units as best as possible with available building maintenance funds. RECOMMENDATION : Approval of the Ordinance. Attachments: None ORDINANCE NO. 9174 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT CI1707 – FLEET MAINTENANCE ROOFTOP MAKE- UP AIR UNIT REPLACEMENT PROJECT, BUDGETING AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $300,000 FOR SAID PROJECT, AND TRANSFERRING FUNDS FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND WHEREAS, the Fleet Maintenance Facility is vital to the operations of the City of Pueblo, and WHEREAS, the make-up air units are vital to the operation of the City of Pueblo Fleet Maintenance Facility. WHEREAS, Capital Project CI1707 – Fleet Maintenance Rooftop Make-up Air Unit Replacement project needs to be established and funds budgeted and appropriated; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. Project No. CI1707 - Fleet Maintenance Rooftop Make-up Air Unit Replacement is hereby established. The amount of $300,000 is hereby budgeted and appropriated to said project. SECTION 2. Funds in the aggregate amount of $300,000 are hereby authorized to be transferred, expended, and made available out of the Capital Improvement Fund for the sole purpose of the replacement project. SECTION 3. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Ordinance. SECTION 4.
