Over the past year we continued our work from 2016 to address the opioid crisis in our community. In July 2017,we received approval from the Pueblo County Board of Health to open a needle exchange center, the Pueblo Harm Reduction Center, which receives used needles from users, sponsors community sweeps of discarded needles, and properly disposes of them. Through collaborative partnerships, we are also working to create a community resource center where addicts can find the help they need to become drug-free and return to our community as productive citizens. We are asking for your support as a Corporate Sponsor at our 2017 Fundraising Breakfast on Wednesday,October 4,7:30 am at the Historic Union Depot, 132 West B Street, Pueblo. This year's Breakfast will honor our Pueblo heroes Senator and Mrs. Leroy Garcia,Jessica Thurman, Department of Social Services, and Lindsay Reeves, HealthSolutions for their tireless efforts in creating opportunities for Pueblo to make positive changes for our community. Our keynote speaker will be Rev.John Mark Hild, Community Activist for LGBTQ+ homeless youths in Pueblo.
