HomeMy WebLinkAbout13778 RESOLUTION NO. 13778 A RESOLUTION CONSENTING TO PARTICIPATION BY THE PUEBLO URBAN RENEWAL AUTHORITY IN THE COLORADO INTERGOVERNMENTAL RISK SHARING AGENCY WHEREAS, the City of Pueblo is a member of the Colorado Intergovernmental Risk Sharing Agency (“CIRSA”), a public entity self-insurance pool providing property/casualty coverage, workers’ compensation coverage, or both, to its members; and WHEREAS, the Pueblo Urban Renewal Authority (“PURA”) is a body corporate and politic and is a public entity as said term is defined in C.R.S. Section 24-10-103.5; and WHEREAS, the City of Pueblo has in effect with PURA intergovernmental agreements for the provision of one or more functions, services, or facilities lawfully authorized to both the City of Pueblo and PURA; and WHEREAS, PURA has made application for membership in CIRSA; and WHEREAS, the City of Pueblo desires to consent to PURA’s participation in CIRSA; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, that: SECTION 1. The City Council of Pueblo hereby consents to participation by PURA in CIRSA. SECTION 2. A copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to PURA and to CIRSA. SECTION 3. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution which are necessary or appropriate to implement the transactions described therein. SECTION 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon final passage. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None. BACKGROUND: PURA is applying for membership in CIRSA. The attached Resolution expresses City Council’s consent to PURA joining CIRSA. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: None. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable to this Resolution. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not applicable to this Resolution.
