This park will be a very interesting and welcoming addition to the south entrance of Pueblo. This park will have a wide variety of historic artifacts related to the steel and mining industry. Located in the park will be a Davenport Engine from the Allen Mine in Trinidad, ore carts, a 10 ton and 130 ton ladle, rollers used in steel making along with the merry go round made with CF&I steel in the 1920's and the mine rescue car. Besides the artifacts the park will have an original steelworker sculpture, signage with text panels describing the artifacts, benches, trees and bushes. The current phase of the park is funded with a grant from CDOT-Highway Enhancement funds and grant from the LeVert Hoag Foundation. This phase includes building the bases for the artifacts, moving and installing the artifacts, putting in new curbs, sidewalks, irrigation and other infrastructure. The next phase includes the trees, bushes, benches, cameras and additional electrical. The funding is in place for the first phase and some of the next phase but we need to raise additional funds for the trees, bushes and other amenities to create a park setting. We are asking for $2,000 from the City of Pueblo to sponsor one of the small gardens located around one of the artifacts. The City of Pueblo's name will be on the garden. You will be a sponsor of a garden and you will not be asked to pull weeds only to stop by to enjoy and admire the park.
