HomeMy WebLinkAbout13729 RESOLUTION NO. 13729 A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL CONSULTANT SERVICES BETWEEN THE CITY OF PUEBLO, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, AND AECOM TECHNICAL SERVICES, INC. FOR THE UNION AVENUE BRIDGE PRESCOPING REPORT IN THE AMOUNT OF $145,668.00, AND AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF CITY COUNCIL TO EXECUTE THE SAME WHEREAS, The Proposal to Provide the Prescoping Report for the Union Avenue Bridge was submitted by AECOM Technical Services, Inc. has been selected to provide professional services to complete the project. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The Agreement for Professional Consultant Services dated July 24, 2017, between the City of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and AECOM Technical Services, Inc. of which a copy is attached hereto and on file at the office of the City Clerk, having been approved as to form by the City Attorney, is hereby approved. SECTION 2. The President of the City Council is hereby authorized to execute and deliver said Agreement on behalf of the City of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the Seal of the City thereto and attest same. SECTION 3. Funds in the amount $145,668 for said professional services shall be paid from Capital Project HU1702. SECTION 4. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution and the attached contract/agreement to effectuate the transactions described therein. SECTION 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval. FOR THE UNION AVENUE BRIDGE PRESCOPING REPORT IN THE AMOUNT OF $145,668.00, AND AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF CITY COUNCIL TO EXECUTE THE SAME SUMMARY: This Resolution awards a professional services contract to AECOM Technical Services, Inc. for the Union Avenue Prescoping Report. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None. BACKGROUND: The existing Union Avenue Bridge is a structure that has a poor rating based on the off- system bridge report. Due to the age and design of the existing structure, total replacement is the only viable option. This will be a very significant and complex project due to the location of the bridge, and how it interfaces with the Arkansas River, Arkansas Levy System, railroad yard, and 2 historic areas in the City of Pueblo. Therefore, a prescoping report was advised by CDOT to determine the critical planning and design elements of the bridge, environmental considerations, the permitting processes that would be necessary, a preliminary cost of estimated construction, and possible funding options for the construction of the bridge. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funds in the amount of $145,668.00 have been budgeted and appropriate for the project and will be paid from Capital Project HU 1702. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None. ALTERNATIVES: Denial of this Resolution will result in cancellation of the project. RECOMMENDATION: Approval of this Resolution.
