AP1702 AIRPORT ADVERTISING FUND, BUDGETING AND APPROPRIATING $25,772 FOR SAID PROJECT, AND TRANSFERRING $20,000 FROM THE 2017 AIRPORT ADVERTISING BUDGET TO SAID PROJECT WHEREAS, the Pueblo County Commissioners provided funds to the Pueblo Memorial Airport to increase the awareness and utilization of airport services; and WHEREAS, a project needs to be established and the funds budgeted and appropriated; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. Capital Project No. AP1702 Airport Advertising Fund is hereby established, and funds in the amount of $25,772 that were received from the Pueblo County Commissioners are hereby budgeted and appropriated to said project. SECTION 2. Funds in the amount of $20,000 are transferred from the 2017 Airport Advertising Budget to Capital Project No. AP1702 Airport Advertising Fund. SECTION 3. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Ordinance to effectuate the policies and procedures described therein. SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon final passage and approval. AP1702 AIRPORT ADVERTISING FUND, BUDGETING AND APPROPRIATING $25,772 FOR SAID PROJECT, AND TRANSFERRING $20,000 FROM THE 2017 AIRPORT ADVERTISING BUDGET TO SAID PROJECT SUMMARY: This Ordinance will provide funding to increase the awareness and utilization of airport services at the Pueblo Memorial Airport. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: On February 13, 2017, City Council passed Resolution 13618 transferring money from the Council Contingency fund to the Airport fund for advertising. On May 22, 2017, City Council passed Resolution 13687 awarding a service contract to David Pahl Photography, DBA STACK, to provide advertising services for the Airport. BACKGROUND th The Pueblo County Commissioners provided $25,772 to the Airport on May 10. The purpose of these funds is to increase the awareness and utilization of airport services. City Council has given the Airport $20,000 for the same purpose. A Capital Project is being established to track the use of these funds. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funds in the amount of $25,772 that were received from the Pueblo County Commissioners will be budgeted and appropriated into Capital Project AP1702. Funds in the amount of $20,000 that were received from the City Council Contingency fund will be transferred from the 2017 Airport advertising budget to Capital Project AP1702. Total project funds will be $45,772. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not applicable. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: Not applicable. ALTERNATIVES: If this Ordinance is not approved, the funds from the Pueblo County Commissioners will remain in the General Fund, and will not be used as intended by the Pueblo Board of County Commissioners. The funds from the City Council Contingency fund are currently in the Airport budget and will be utilized for advertising. RECOMMENDATION The Department of Aviation recommends approval of this Ordinance. Attachments: None
