HomeMy WebLinkAbout13722 RESOLUTION NO. 13722 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE TRANSFER AND COMBINING OF BUDGETED AND APPROPRIATED WASTEWATER FUNDS FROM EXISTING PROJECTS IN ORDER TO MORE EFFICIENTLY COMPLETE ONE LARGE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT, TRANSFERRING FUNDS FROM (WW1304) NUTRIENTS MANAGEMENT CONTROL, (WW1403) DIGESTER COVER REHAB, (WW1701) SCREW PUMP REPLACEMENT, (WW1702) CENTRIFUGE/POLYMER FEED REPLACEMENT, AND (WW1703) AERATION IMPROVEMENTS/REG 85, IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $4,396,458, TO NEWLY CREATED (WW1706) 2017 PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS, The City of Pueblo, each year, has budgeted and appropriated funds for many projects in Wastewater; and WHEREAS, the Nutrients Management Control project (WW1304) was created and funded with a total budget of $3,824,695, the engineering and planning costs were $3,594,255, leaving a remaining balance of $230,470; and WHEREAS, the Digester Cover Rehab project (WW1403) was created and funded with a total budget of $743,000, the engineering and planning will cost $90,490, leaving a remaining balance of $652,510; and WHEREAS, the Screw Pump Replacement project (WW1701) was created and funded with a total of $810,000, the engineering and planning will cost $98,790, leaving a remaining balance of $711,210; and WHEREAS, the Centrifuge/Polymer Feed Repair project (WW1702) was created and funded with a budget of $2,400,000, the engineering and planning will cost $314,967, leaving a remaining balance of $2,085,033; and WHEREAS, the Aeration Improvements/Reg 85 project (WW1703) was created and funded with a total of $1,200,000, the engineering and planning will cost $482,765, leaving a remaining balance of $717,235; and WHEREAS, the Wastewater Department will request bids for one construction project, encompassing each of the previous projects once plans are completed; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. The City hereby transfers the remaining budget amounts of each aforementioned projects, totaling $4,396,458, in to a newly created 2017 Process Improvement project (WW1706). SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the transactions described therein. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION : Through the 2013 budget process, the Nutrients Management Control Project was created and funded. Through the 2014 budget process, the Digester Cover Rehab Project was created and funded. Through the 2017 budget process, the Screw Pump Replacement Project, the Centrifuge/Polymer Feed Project, and Aeration Improvements/Reg 85 project was created and funded. This construction project will be charged to newly created, 2017 Process Improvement project (WW1706). FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS : There is not an increase in the amount of funds budgeted and appropriated, only a consolidation of funds into one project to make a more efficient accounting of the upcoming construction project.
