AND SETTING FORTH $62,100.00 FOR CONTINGENCIES AND ADDITIONAL WORK FOR PROJECT NO. 17-020 2017 ASPHALT STREET RESURFACING - OVERLAY, AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME WHEREAS, proposals for PROJECT NO. 17-020 2017 ASPHALT STREET , RESURFACING - OVERLAYhave been received and examined, and; WHEREAS, the proposal of Martin Marietta Materials, Inc., of Westminster, Colorado was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsible; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. A contract for Project NO. 17-020 – 2017 ASPHALT STREET RESURFACING - OVERLAY is hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $620,970.35 SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval. AND SETTING FORTH $62,100.00 FOR CONTINGENCIES AND ADDITIONAL WORK FOR PROJECT NO. 17-020 2017 ASPHALT STREET RESURFACING - OVERLAY, AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME SUMMARY: This resolution awards a Construction Contract to Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. for Project NO. 17-020 2017 ASPHALT STREET RESURFACING – OVERLAY. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None. BACKGROUND: This project consists of the construction of asphalt resurfacing (overlay), roto-milling, 6” asphalt patch at cross pans, crack repair, adjustment of manholes and various incidentals relating to the resurfacing, on streets within the City. The work was competitively bid through the City’s Purchasing Department, and a copy of the bid summary is attached. This contract includes the base bid, bid alternate #1, bid alternate #3, and bid alternate #4. The streets to be resurfaced are Portland Avenue between S. LaCrosse Avenue thth and E. Beech Street, W 14 Street and W 15 Street between Grand Avenue and Greenwood Avenue. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funds for this Project will be paid out of HUAN01 – 2017 ASPHALT STREET RESURFACING - OVERLAY BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not Applicable STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None ALTERNATIVES: Denying the Resolution will result in cancellation of the project.
