HomeMy WebLinkAbout13692 RESOLUTION NO. 13692 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A BUILDING DEMOLITION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $30,402.00 TO DIRT N DEMO, INC., FOR PROJECT NO. 17-054 DEMOLITION OF STRUCTURES AT 502 W. 8TH ST AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME WHEREAS, proposals for Project No. 17-054 – 502 W. 8th St. Single Family Demolition of Dangerous Building have been received and examined; and WHEREAS, the proposals of Dirt n Demo, Inc. of Pueblo, Colorado was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsible; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: SECTION 1. Contracts for Project No.17-054 – 502 W. 8th St. , Single Family Demolition, of Dangerous Buildings is hereby awarded to said bidders in the amount of $30,402.00. SECTION 2. The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to execute said contracts on behalf of Pueblo, a Municipal Corporation, and the City Clerk shall affix the seal of the City thereto and attest the same. SECTION 3. These demolition contracts will be paid from CI1605 – 2016 Abatement and Demolition of Buildings. SECTION 4. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval. Nawrocki and Members of City Council CC: Sam Azad, City Manager VIA: Gina Dutcher, City Clerk FROM: Earl Wilkinson, Director of Public Works A RESOLUTION AWARDING A BUILDING DEMOLITION CONTRACT IN SUBJECT: THE AMOUNT OF $30,402.00 TO DIRT N DEMO, INC., FOR PROJECT NO.17-054 DEMOLITION OF STRUCTURES AT 502 W. 8TH ST AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME SUMMARY: This Resolution awards construction contracts to Dirt n Demo, Inc. for the demolition of 502 W. 8th St. for $30,402.00. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None. BACKGROUND: The property owner at this location have failed to comply with Regional Building Department orders pursuant to Section 401 of the Uniform Code for Abatement of Dangerous Buildings (1997 Ed.). Per Section 801 of the 1997 Abatement of Dangerous Buildings Code, the Regional Building Department has requested demolition of this building. This project will consist of the demolition of single-family home and other incidental items related to the razing of the structures as specified in the plans and the specifications. The work was competitively bid through the City’s Purchasing Department, and a copy of the bid summary is attached. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: This demolition contract will be paid from CI1605 – 2016 Abatement and Demolition of Buildings. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None. STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None.
