Pueblo House in conjunction with KOYC Radio is honored to be organizing the Cinco de Mayo
parade and festivities this year. We're hoping to have the support of local businesses, city and
county.
Our focus will be on the youth and therefore all activities will be centered around kids of
different ages. We'll have pony rides, bounce house, face painting, karaoke, music and other
youth friendly activities. Our parade route will change this year. We'll be starting at St.
Leander's Church heading north to 8t St. where we will march west to Fountain and into El
Centro Quinto Sol for the festivities.
Last year the parade and festivities were organized by E.A.S.T., however they have decided not
to get involved this year after considering the amount of work it entails. Rather than see it end
we have decided to take on the organizing and will be encouraging kids from local schools to
help host this traditional east side event. By having the festivities in El Centro Park,we won't
have to deal with large generators for power. We will be eliminating the car show trophies,
although they will still be encouraged to be part of the parade. Instead, have a kid's bike
decorating contest.
We hope the city will once again, support this wonderful event in which so many east side
citizens participate. Your donation will ensure the event remains free for kids of all ages to
enjoy.
Thank you for your continued support,
Janet Wilson, Executive Director on behalf of Pueblo House
