HomeMy WebLinkAbout13662 RESOLUTION NO. 13662 A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $139,594.50 TO MARTIN MARIETTA AND SETTING FORTH $14,000.00 FOR CONTINGENCIES AND ADDITIONAL WORK FOR PROJECT NO. 17-038 – UNION AVENUE BRIDGE RESURFACING - OVERLAY PROJECT, AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME WHEREAS, proposals for PROJECT NO. 17-038 Union Avenue Bridge Resurfacing – Overlay Project have been received and examined, and; WHEREAS, the proposal of MARTIN MARIETTA, of WESTMINSTER, Colorado was the lowest of those bids determined to be responsible; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, that: SECTION 1. A contract for PROJECT NO. 17-038 – Union Avenue Bridge Resurfacing – Overlay Project is hereby awarded to said bidder in the amount of $139,594.50. SECTION 2. The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform any and all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval. Nawrocki and Members of City Council CC: Sam Azad, City Manager VIA: Gina Dutcher, City Clerk FROM: Earl Wilkinson, P.E., Director of Public Works SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF $139,594.50 TO MARTIN MARIETTA AND SETTING FORTH $14,000.00 FOR CONTINGENCIES AND ADDITIONAL WORK FOR PROJECT NO. 17-038 – UNION AVENUE BRIDGE RESURFACING - OVERLAY PROJECT, AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO EXECUTE THE SAME SUMMARY: This resolution awards a Construction Contract to Martin Marietta for Project NO. 17-038 – Union Avenue Bridge Resurfacing - Overlay Project. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: None. BACKGROUND: This project will consist of the asphalt resurfacing (overlay), roto-milling, asphaltic plug bridge joint replacement, adjustment of manholes, inlaid traffic markings and various incidentals related to the construction as detailed in the plans and the specifications for this project. FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS: Funds for this Project will be paid out of HU1502 – Main St/Union Ave Bridge Overlay BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Not Applicable STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None ALTERNATIVES: Denying the Resolution will result in cancellation of the project.
