HomeMy WebLinkAbout13656 RESOLUTION NO. 13656 A RESOLUTION DECREASING THE NUMBER OF CITY APPOINTMENTS TO THE SANGRE DE CRISTO ARTS AND CONFERENCE CENTER BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND APPOINTING MEMBERS THERETO BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PUEBLO, COLORADO, that: SECTION 1: City Council acknowledges the 2014 revised bylaws the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center Board of Trustees setting City appointments for this Board at three members. SECTION 2: David C. Russel, Jr. and Margaret Wright are hereby appointed to the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center Board of Trustees to serve a three-year term expiring December 31, 2019. SECTION 3: The officers and staff of the City are directed and authorized to perform all acts consistent with the intent of this Resolution to effectuate the policies and procedures described herein. SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage and approval. Nawrocki and Members of City Council CC: Sam Azad, City Manager VIA: City Clerk’s Office FROM: Gina Dutcher, City Clerk SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION DECREASING THE NUMBER OF CITY APPOINTMENTS TO THE SANGRE DE CRISTO ARTS AND CONFERENCE CENTER BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND APPOINTING MEMBERS THERETO SUMMARY: This Resolution appoints two individuals to the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center Board of Trustees to each serve a three-year term expiring December 31, 2019 and decreases the number of City appointed members to the Board. PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Appointments to the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center Board of Trustees are made st on an annual basis selecting individuals to serve three-year terms expiring on December 31 of each year. Resolution 12288 passed December 27, 2011. Resolution 13610 passed February 13, 2017. BACKGROUND: In 2011, Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center Board of Trustees asked City Council and Pueblo County Board of County Commissionersto decrease the size of the Board, per revised Bylaws being passed by their Board. The appointment ratio was 1:1:2. In 2014, Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center Board of Trustees revised the Bylaws and set the numbers of appointments to the board as three City appointments, four Pueblo County Board of County Commissioners appointments, and the remaining appointments by Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center Board of Trustees to comprise at least a 15-member board. On February 13, 2017, City Council passed Resolution 13610 appointing one member to the Board which left two City vacancies to serve a three-year term expiring on December 31, 2019. Following advertisements published in the Pueblo Chieftain and an announcement on the City Clerk’s webpage as well as the City of Pueblo’s social media outlets seeking volunteers to serve on this committee, no new applications were received. The following applicants were referred by the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center to fill the two vacancies. APPLICANTRESIDENCYFIRST APPOINTED David C. BOARD/COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: None STAKEHOLDER PROCESS: None ALTERNATIVES: City Council could remove the Resolution from the Agenda, request that the recruitment process be extended to receive additional applications for consideration.
