SUMMARY:
This Resolution appoints two individuals to the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center
Board of Trustees to each serve a three-year term expiring December 31, 2019 and decreases
the number of City appointed members to the Board.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
Appointments to the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center Board of Trustees are made
st
on an annual basis selecting individuals to serve three-year terms expiring on December 31 of
each year.
Resolution 12288 passed December 27, 2011.
Resolution 13610 passed February 13, 2017.
BACKGROUND:
In 2011, Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center Board of Trustees asked City Council
and Pueblo County Board of County Commissionersto decrease the size of the Board, per
revised Bylaws being passed by their Board. The appointment ratio was 1:1:2. In 2014, Sangre
de Cristo Arts and Conference Center Board of Trustees revised the Bylaws and set the
numbers of appointments to the board as three City appointments, four Pueblo County Board of
County Commissioners appointments, and the remaining appointments by Sangre de Cristo
Arts and Conference Center Board of Trustees to comprise at least a 15-member board.
On February 13, 2017, City Council passed Resolution 13610 appointing one member to the
Board which left two City vacancies to serve a three-year term expiring on December 31, 2019.
Following advertisements published in the Pueblo Chieftain and an announcement on the City
Clerk’s webpage as well as the City of Pueblo’s social media outlets seeking volunteers to serve
on this committee, no new applications were received. The following applicants were referred
